Hello everyone!
So summer breaks, a chance to relax, unwind and enjoy the lovely weather. Formula 1 has a summer break, football takes June and July off, and now M4J has a summer break too! Starting today, I shall be taking a small break from the channel just to spend some time with family and away from the desk. There’s plenty of content already on the channel for you all to catch up on, so try not to miss me too much!
Wild Realms, arguably the highlight of the channel right now!
Now you might be asking how long this summer break will last. Well, to be honest, I need a pretty long break, so this break will be starting today (23/06/2022) and will run for 2.5 weeks until the 11th July. This might sound like a very long time, but I’m not leaving you guys with nothing to watch. I’ll still be streaming Wild Realms every Wednesday at 6pm BST, plus maybe a Stagz to Riches stream one Tuesday and maybe even a bonus stream one Monday too, with a random game filling a couple of hours. Streaming is easy to do as it requires nothing but me playing a game, and an active audience of course, but I do want a break from constantly stressing about making videos.
I will be using some of my time away to try and build a backlog of videos, however I’m bad enough doing that for the day job so this might end up being wishful thinking! If I do get a backlog though, then hopefully I can carry on with weekly uploads until at least the end of the year without the channel skipping any videos.
Stagz to Riches is picking up a real head of steam now!
The reasons for wanting a break are many, but to sum them up I just want some time away from the keyboard to be with my partner and my family and to enjoy the summer while it lasts. For those who don’t know, I work every day making videos for multiple platforms as both a job and a hobby. I make on average 12 pieces of content a week, with nearly half of that for M4J. Having taken a look at my viewing figures recently, things are looking really encouraging, however they’re still not quite where I want them to be. Now my best estimate for why that is is the fact it’s blooming hot outside right now! So hot that it seems reasonable that no one wants to be stuck indoors watching videos in the evenings. The logic behind that is the fact my viewing figures a month ago were far higher than they are now. It could be my content isn’t as good as it was a month ago, or it could be the heat. I’m saying it’s the heat!
So yeah, I’ll be taking a short break from the channel, just a chance to recharge the batteries, catch some sun (but not too much hopefully) and just enjoy having some time to myself. Like I said I’ll still be around for streaming, and I will be announcing a new upload schedule when I return, with quality being the focus over quantity. This break has actually come at a pretty good time, with things in my life about to change in a HUGE way, but more on that in a future update.
